Yup, it's that time of year, and time to start thinking about this year's Tour de France, and also about this year's Tour de Fleece.
I'm just popping up briefly to say that I'm looking forward to the start of the Giro this weekend -- I'm working on a secret spinning project, so can't post anything about it, but plan to use the Giro to push this project to a finish.
We'll be updating the blog in the next couple of weeks with information for 2009 -- I'm already thinking of my challenge -- I think I'll be finishing up some spinning projects that have been hanging around a bit, and the knitting projects they correspond with (also stalled because the spinning is).
Oh, there's lots of time before July to change my mind, though...

Count me in!

Okay, just so things are clear -- I've been out here on my own since 2006, and since then, others have taken up the TdF and run with it. Which is cool, because the more people having fun spinning the better.
The groups on Ravelry have nothing to do with me -- so if you want to have fun on Ravelry, make sure you go there and sign up.
Since there's so much momentum out there with this elsewhere now, this will likely be the last year I do anything formal or organized -- anyone who wants to spin along with me in my low-key way is welcome!
I'll be taking care of some of the site details in a couple of days -- need to recover from the conference I just attended.

I'll take up the challenge again this year.

I'm in! Any excuse to spin is fine with me. As I have three young kids, the only reasonable goal is to manage to spin some amount daily. I've just dyed some wool for the first time, so perhaps I'll spin rainbow yarn for the event. (Usually I just work in natural colors.)
